Art Project at the Ellis' House

Kim and I have been fortunate enough to buy our FIRST NEW BED here recently.  Naturally, since we got a new bed, we had to get a new comforter etc.  In hopes of making a house a home we were trying to spruce up our bedroom.  We haven't done much in there because we wanted to see what kind of bedspread we ended up with.

I am not sure the last time you went shopping for nice things to hang on the walls, but it is flat RIDICULOUS!  Those folks at Kirkland's are nuts if they think I am paying THEIR prices for what they call, Fine Artwork.

Anyway, thanks to an Episode of Jon and Kate+8, we decided to take matters into our own hands.  We spent about $30 on canvas, paint, brushes etc.  I tore some leaves and twigs off of the local plant life and we went to town on what is one of my favorite parenthood moments.  We made 4 paintings in all and I think ours are better than anything Kirklands has.  Enjoy.

Say, "Mama."

OK, I had to post this.  Kim has been trying to get Jax to say "Mama" for months and he still only says "Dada."  It's a good thing he's so cute.

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Springtime

Well, the St' Patty's Day parade in Chicago is usually the weekend before the 17th.  That put it this past Saturday.  We were all going to go downtown, but Bonnie, who was going to watch Jax, came down with a terrible cold so Kim stayed behind and spent the day with the little guy and I went on to the parade with our buds.  It was a lot of fun and I got to take some great pictures.

Today was the 3rd nice day in a row.  Kim is off work on Monday's so we took Jaxon to the park and let him swing and play on some of the equipment.  He loves the sunshine.  He always turns his head into the sun until he sneezes and then goes right back.  It was a lot of fun taking pictures of him outside.  I can't wait till we get to do things like this more often.

I hope you like all the pictures.

Jaxon Update

Ok, I know that it has been ages since the last update, but there really hasn't been much going on that is photo worthy.  Even so, Jax is growing and changing by the minute.  I have looked into ways to stop the process, but it seems inevitable that he is turning into a little boy.  He can crawl like a mad man now and is even pulling himself up ont he furniture.  I know that means walking is in the not-so-distant-future.  There is one problem, though.  When he pulls himself up into a standing position, he doesn't seem to realize that his rear really isn't that far from the ground and the idea of losing his balance and/or falling really scares him.  This means that when he pulls himself up, he is stuck and rather than just biting the bullet and plopping down, he yells until someone comes and sits him down.  It's like a cat stuck in a tree.  I'm hoping this phase will pass soon.  Here are some pictures of the little dude.  Hope you enjoy!

Jaxon's First Cold and Cupcakes

Well, it has been a week or two since we have updated.  Not much has been going on since Christmas other than a bit of traveling and the plague that has fallen on the house of Ellis.  Jaxon pulled through his first cold in spectacular fashion but not before we could get a picture or two.

You can tell that he just doesn't feel well.

Many weeks later (today actually) the Mulroney girls came over for a sleepover.  They have been asking for MONTHS and it just was not working out until now.  Ashleigh, Haleigh, Abby and Taylor stayed last night and had a ball.  Abby (6) recently learned how to make scrambled eggs (with adult supervision) so she made eggs for everyone this morning.  They Kim and Ashleigh baked cupcakes and everyone decorated their cupcakes with homemade cream cheese/buttercream frosting (colored with neon food coloring).  Our kitchen looked like Willy Wonka's factory after a hurricane hit it, but we all had fun.

Christmas 2008

WHEW!  What a December!  We have had company for the last two weeks and now...silence.

Andrew was up here the week before Christmas and my mom, stepdad and aunt arrived the day after he left to be with us for Christmas.  It was certainly a good time.  We have thoroughly enjoyed all of our company and now we are beginning to put our lives and routines back together.

I hope all of you had a good holiday as well.   Here are some pictures of  a few of the highlights of the last few weeks.  Enjoy.

Hilarious!!!

The other night, Jax was in the over-stimulator and having a grand old time.  I am not sure why, but the line from "Finding Nemo" popped in to my head so I said it.  Apparently that was funny.  Jax got to cracking up and before long, we were all laughing.

The sound on my camera is a bit weird, but you can still get the idea.
SHARK BAIT HOO HA HA!
